Japanese composer-producer Hiro Ama returns with a bold new statement: the Booster Pack EP, out 10 April via PRAH Recordings.

The lead track, Lava, is a rave-inspired, rhythmically intense piece built from pulsing bass and a siren-like synth, designed to create tension, energy, and movement while keeping the groove at the forefront.

“I started focusing on beats and rhythms for this tune,” Ama explains. “I wanted to create something intense and rave-inspired so I made a sound using a police siren and added a pulsing bass. I intentionally kept harmonic elements minimal, letting the rhythm carry the track. Instead of melodic movement, I used a detuned bass to create tension and energy without straying from the groove.”

Where his previous work explored subtle textures, emotional resonance, and tranquil space, Booster Pack is a full-force dive into momentum, groove, and physicality. Built from the ground up around rhythm, beats, and energy, the EP is a 180-degree turn toward fast-paced, dance-oriented music designed to move the body as much as the mind. Beginning each track with percussion and grooves before layering melodies and harmonies, Ama crafts a hypnotic yet intensely kinetic soundscape, blending unusual time signatures, pulsing bass, and experimental textures into a cohesive, high-energy collection that is at once playful, hypnotic, and relentless in its drive.
