Carlo Troja aka Don Carlos began DJ'ing in the late 70s. He debuted as a producer towards the end of the 80s with "Alone", which became one of the cult tracks of the international Deep House scene. He followed up the single in 1992 with this, the "Mediterraneo EP". A mini album of sorts and released by Calypso (Irma), it shows the sheer musicianship and forward vision held by the producer. A timeless collection of tracks, still sounding great today (they must have blown minds back in '92!) which show how passionate, radiant and exhilarating house music was in Italy at this time. While we were going at it to rave and hardcore, our European brothers and sisters on the continent were having an altogether more sophisticated and mature musical journey. Inspired by the deep house coming out of the states, Italy took the sound and made it completely their own. Out of press for many years and highly regarded as one of the universal high points of the scene, grab this life changing mini LP by one of Italy's finest exports.
