Still Music is proud to present The Architect of House: Chicago 1984–88, Volume 1: Classics, the first release in a three-part archival series dedicated to the pioneering work of Chip E, one of the foundational figures of Chicago house music.

Focusing on the years 1984–88, Volume 1: Classics gathers some of Chip E's most important and influential recordings, documenting a period when house music was taking shape on Chicago's South Side and transforming dance floors around the world. Built around drum machines, tape edits, and a forward-thinking approach to club music, these recordings remain essential chapters in the history of the genre.

Presented as a deluxe double LP with extensive liner notes written by Jake Malooley and archival material, Volume 1: Classics offers both longtime collectors and new listeners an opportunity to revisit the music that helped define house music's earliest years.

The series will continue with Volume 2: Unreleased Jack and Volume 3: Trax That Jack, exploring previously unheard recordings and rare productions from Chip E's remarkable catalog.
